On March 16, the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation released the March Monthly Confidence Index for the $1 trillion equipment finance industry. March’s index is 50.3, a decrease from the February index of 51.8.
Construction employment grew in 218, or 61 percent, out of 358 metro areas between March 2018 and March 2019, declined in 83 (23 percent) and was unchanged in 57.
Thirty-eight states added construction jobs between March 2018 and March 2019, while construction employment increased in 29 states between February and March, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America.
Construction spending is at record levels for the second straight month in March and is up 4.9 percent for the first three months of year compared to the same period in 2016.
