This morning, Autodesk announced the next phase in its effort to upskill current construction workers and help the industry engage the next generation of prospective recruits.

The labor shortage in the construction industry will only increase, as 41% of current US construction professionals are expected to retire by 2031. Autodesk’s latest news aims to provide tools to help address customer concerns that the industry isn’t turning out enough workers with the right skillsets.

At a high level, Autodesk announced the release of learning resources to provide customers with digital tools needed for a competitive advantage in the market. These initiatives include:

  • Construction Master Class, which provides online tutorials from industry leaders that are free to everyone.
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud Learning Center, which houses easy-to-follow courses on how to use Autodesk Construction Cloud products, including Autodesk Build, Autodesk Takeoff and Autodesk Docs, and are free to everyone and translated into five languages.
